I Am Taking My Life Back!

The coronavirus, aka Covid-19, has taken as much as I am willing to allow. We have lived with this pandemic since Late January, 2020 and that’s long enough for me. I learned enough and heard enough about the Covid-19 that I can get on with my life.  You need to decide for yourself how you are going to live your life under these trying conditions. This is my decision.

I Am Taking my life back!

I went to the fitness center pool this morning with a friend and it was wonderful. In reality, I have been several times the last couple of weeks.  The water is clear, warm and so relaxing. My fitness center is old and in need of some tender loving care, but it is CLEAN and all the workers walk around in masks with disinfectant cleaner and cloths in their hands. I am comfortable there and always have been.

I am through with the covid-19 virus controlling me. Also, I have heard all different political sides of the covid-19 virus pandemic.  Not to mention that I listen to friends who are scared to get out of the house due this beast.  And I can sympathize. I wear my mask when I go shopping and can’t practice social distancing. After all, I am in the old folk’s bracket. I have type II diabetes but overall I am in good health and my immune system is fine.

I  checked the internet about facts on covid-19.  Not just one site, but several including Wikipedia, WHO (world health org), Ga government for Cobb County, and Avert.

I Did The Research!

So let me tell you what I found out and what I am going to live by.

  1. Most people only have mild symptoms like a common cold. IF they get covid-19 they will get better without special treatment usually within 7 days. (I have sinusitis every year that makes me feel like crap and the doctor gives me nose spray to help with the symptoms.)
  2. If you’re unwell with COVID-19, resting, drinking lots of liquids, and taking paracetamol or other home remedies can help with symptoms. (Doesn’t that sound familiar? There is no cure for the common cold either.)
  3. COVID-19 is spread through contact with droplets of saliva or mucus from the nose or mouth of someone who is infected with the virus.. When someone with the virus coughs these droplets land on nearby surfaces and objects. The virus is spread when another person comes into contact with the droplets and touches their own face, particularly eyes, nose or mouth. (Ugh, I don’t want people sneezing on me when they aren’t sick.)
  • As for wearing a mask, I have already said that I do wear a cloth mask when I am out and about. (None of the sources mentioned paper masks.) I do NOT wear one at home or with people that I know are not effected. (I don’t know anyone who is affected, do you?) . “Fabric masks do not prevent the wearer from getting COVID-19” and that is a direct quote from Avert.
  1. I do wash my hands several times a day with soap and water. In fact, I have hand sanitizer, alcohol-based, by the door.   Tissues are in every room of the house to use when needed.

You Can Take Your Life Back

I am urging you to do what I have done.  Check out the facts and decide how you want to live your life. Don’t let an “expert” tell you what to think.  The WHO is concerned about world health, not YOU.  Dr. Faucci and others like him are pessimist who want us to crawl into a hole and stay there.  Sorry, but that is not for me.  The CDC has given us guidelines that are sensible and doable.

With the addition of getting your flu shot this year. Which for me and Charles is an annual thing. However, I will tell you that last year I did not get my flu shot due to a shortage of vaccine at my doctor’s office.  I went three different times and each time, they were out. The third time was so late in the year, that I just stopped trying.  Little did I know about what was to happen with the covid-19 pandemic?  However, the good Lord is watching out for me and I am well.

Fitness 1440 is under new ownership.  Upgrades are being made and at the present time the whirlpool spa is not operational.  But soon it will be. There is a sauna and steam room open and ready for use.  The personnel is the same and they are friendly and ready to make your day at the Fitness 1440 as enjoyable as possible.  The cardio room equipment is available 24/7 (with membership) and group fitness classes are available. Child care is available in mornings with more times expected to be announced. Seniors with the Silver Sneakers Insurance are welcome and the cost is FREE. (That’s one advantage I take.)

I began this article with the intention of inviting you to join me in the pool at Fitness 1440 on Sandy Plains Rd. Marietta, GA.  Pool opens at 9am. Come join me!!

Great way to start the day!
